Angel from FROM Beyond suggested we do an event together and so it didnt take too long to think about what to do. Angel creates all his own graphics for his skateboard decks and clothing, so something art related just seemed right. Let’s get the kids and adults together and do some painting on some skateboards. From Beyond and ourselves are always trying to keep the positive vibes going so he suggested getting AUNT F.L.O. involved. So everyone getting decks to paint would have to donate 2 canned goods to benefit their cause that helps homeless woman. Just needed sum boards and as luck would have it our buddy Daryl and TODD from Razor Cake had some. We received decks from them last year for our “Street Clean Up” and we were more than stoked have them, help us out again. Mixing paint and dipping the brushes into water was being done by people of all ages. There were no rules, but just to be creative. We were fortunate enough to get delicious pizza donated by ROSE CITY PIZZA (Best Pizza in the SGV) and everyone was able to fill their bellies after putting all their artistic energy into painting decks. We collected plenty of canned goods, built on the community engagement and awareness and some really cool art went down. Thank you to everyone that supported the event and sponsored it. Cheers.
Alhambra is a relatively quiet area that is the “Gate to the SGV” so we are stoked to bring sum noise to the area. Skateboarding and music go hand and hand so we are happy to announce that we will be providing a space for bands and artist to perform. Friday night hosted several Hardcore bands in unison with Penniback Records: Palace Wave, Clit Kat, United Nothing, The Cavities and Dumb Fucks. Thanks to everyone that came out and Anaiah for getting this going.
